Tracking your case after you mail it

A few weeks after mailing, USCIS sends a Receipt Notice (Form I-797C) by mail with a 13-character receipt number (3 letters + 10 digits). If you included Form G-1145, you also get a quick text/email when they accept the filing. Enter the receipt number at egov.uscis.gov/casestatus to see updates. Keep the receipt — it is your proof the case is pending. In this app you can mark the process as "filed" so it moves to your concluded list.
